How to File a Complaint with the NC Dept of Labor

workplace safety ncWorkplace safety in North Carolina has been under much scrutiny in recent years. Farmworkers’ safety conditions made headlines recently, which is bringing more attention to the Department of Labor’s regulations and the lack of safety inspections and enforcement. A North Carolina textile plant also caught fire for the third time this year. Loose cotton fibers fell into equipment that sparked flames and caused past fires at the Kinston Fibers’ plant.

If you’re worried about your work conditions or the safety of a loved one’s workplace, you can file a complaint with the NC Occupational Safety and Health Division. OSH allows complaints filed online. Federal complaints about workplace safety can also be submitted online. Plaintiffs can also download a PDF document and follow the fax instructions on it.
